"I regret to inform you that the machines (and it's backup) lost their hard disk yesterday, due to a data-center problem. I know it's extremely annoying to you, but I wanted to give you the bad news, rather than have you wait with expectations. We tried asking Amazon, and they said, it's gone for good, unfortunately. Not sure about the future of iEtherPad, but all data is gone for now"
The To-Do list myself and multiple other staff members made as well as all of the information we had stored there could be gone for good. Unfortunately, the site we were using crashed when my internet was down. During that time period, I asked various people to note everything to me so that I could work on everything by referencing off of the text from my phone. But by the time someone was able to get online to send me the data, everything was already gone. Perhaps some loss could have been prevented if it were not for everyone's busy lives, but I don't blame anything but the site's servers for the issue, and there's nothing any of us could do to prevent it. So I apologize, members and staff, for not being wise enough to back up everything occasionally.
The good news is that WT only lost a couple of hours of relatively important writing, since we were able to write up what we had in a relatively short time (spanning less than half a day with our combined effort). Everything else we lost that was related to WT is all insignificant history.. a bunch of old PMs, games, discussion, and whatnot we had stored (although it was nice to see how nooby we were back in 2009/10!). And we can all learn from our mistakes! All of the important details for future plots and pretty much everything related is saved to my computer, external hard drive, and PM inbox. I may also paste everything I have onto GoogleDocs to further reinforce the backup. To any normal person, it may seem that I'm just being paranoid, but it's better to be safe than sorry!
